First Date Spots Rated 4U

About this site

First Date Spots Rated 4U rates the places people actually meet for a first date — coffee shops, restaurants, and first-meeting spots — on the three things that decide how a first date goes: whether you can hold a conversation there, what it really costs two people, and how gracefully either person can leave if the spark isn't there.

Scores run from one to five hearts on each measure. Ratings are editorial and independent: no business can pay for a listing, a visit, or a better score, and sponsored placements don't exist here.

Why it exists

This site is the companion to The True Cost of Dating Apps: Designed to Keep You Swiping (Paul Kendall), a book about how dating apps are built to keep people swiping rather than meeting. The book makes the case; this site is the practical half — when you do meet someone in person, here's where to go, and what to expect when you get there.

Who runs it

Paul Kendall — author of Influence at Any Age, AI Explained: So Easy, Your Grandma Will Understand, and The True Cost of Dating Apps. More of his books live at booksthatmakeyousmarter.com.
